After lots of great feedback from the kids, we’ve decided to change this fall’s play to Tom Sawyer. This long-time favorite of ours is based on Mark Twain’s novel, and we’ve had great fun producing and performing it in the past. If your kids are looking for a fun time, be sure to have them sign up, as we haven’t quite started casting yet!
The fall session of KFAD will begin August 24th at 4:00 p.m. at the KFAD Studio, which is located behind the library in an old bank building. The address is 3 Eclipse Center. The musical this fall will be Babes in Toyland. Performance dates are November 20, 21 and 22. In the fall we also have a fundraising dinner, which will be on September 20 from 4 – 7:30 p.m. Our theme is the Roaring 20’s and will include performances by the kids and professional musicians.
Rehearsals are Mondays and Thursdays from 4 – 6 p.m. We start at the studio and by mid-October will start rehearsing on stage at Head Start, where we perform.
The cost is $110.00 per student ($95.00 for additional kids) and includes vocal, acting, dance instruction, as well as costumes for the show. Registration paperwork can be found here and will also be available on Monday at the studio.
We do have other fundraising activities including Elder-Beerman coupon books and occasional Culver’s Scoopie Nights. We encourage and need parental help, especially during show week. When the show is over on Sunday, parents also help strike the set. You can find a parent survey form here, and it will also be available on Monday at the studio.

Kids Fun and Drama will be offering a Summer Program. This program will focus on vocal instruction, but will also include dance, acting and hand chimes.
Dates: Monday – Thursday during the weeks of July 6, July 13, and July 20.
Time: Classes will be held from 10:00 a.m. – noon.
Location: 3 Eclipse Center (Our new studio space, located behind the Beloit Public Library in the old bank building.)
On Thursday, July 23 there will be a reception and performance at noon.
The cost is $25.00 a week. We encourage all three weeks of participation, if possible, as we will build on skills learned each week. A minimum of 10 children will be required to hold the camp.

Join us this weekend for our performances of Beauty and the Beast Jr. The kids take the stage at 7 PM on Friday night and 1 PM and 7 PM on Saturday. The events are held at the Head Start Theater (inside the Head Start building in Beloit), so bring the whole family down for all the fun.
The kids are ready to entertain you and ask you to “be our guest!”
Join us at the Beloit Culver’s this Tuesday, March 31, for KFAD’s Scoopie Night. The kids will be there to help serve your meals from 4 to 8 PM, and Culver’s will donate a portion of all orders placed to KFAD.

Please join us this Saturday, March 28, for our 3rd Annual Dazzling Drama Vendor Fair. This is held in the Head Start Theater (inside the Head Start building in Beloit), where we perform our shows.
Doors open at 9 AM and close at 4 PM. In addition to all sorts of goods from various vendors, we’ll have a bake sale and lunch available too. There will also be a silent auction to benefit KFAD, with items donated by each of the vendors.

Dates to be aware of for the fall season if registering:
August 18, 4:00 – 6:00: Registration/Auditions
Mondays and Thursdays after August 18, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m: Rehearsals. Attendance is required at all rehearsals. (No rehearsal on Labor Day.)
October 12, 4:00 – 7:00: Oktoberfest Fundraising Dinner – mandatory for any fall registrants
November 21 — 23: Show dates
The registration fee for the first child is $110.00. Discounted rate for additional children is $85.00.
The fee covers all acting, vocal, and dance instruction as well as costumes and breaks down to less than $10/week. Because of this, we also have to do some fundraising in addition to our annual letter appeal and any grants we receive. We will be selling Elder Beerman coupon books and hosting our annual fundraising dinner this fall.
KFAD also asks for parent involvement throughout the season and during show week. There will be a parent volunteer sheet available at registration. There are many ways to be involved.
