The Kids Fun and Drama players will perform the weekend of April 16–18. The Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7pm, and the Sunday matinee will be at 2pm.
This year, we’ll have two plays. Our newest actors will perform The Billy Goats Gruff, while our more seasoned actors will present The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Tickets will go on sale soon. For more information, contact Marge Austin at (608) 368-1578.
KFAD starts its new session on January 14, 2010, from 4-6 PM. If you’re thinking of joining us, the time to act is now.
We’ve made some changes with this session. First of all, you must reserve your space in the session before we begin, as we have limited space. Also, Marge will be casting on the first day.
Our actors will be performing two different plays: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Three Billy Goats Gruff. The cast will be divided based on experience and age. The younger group will perform Three Billy Goats Gruff, and the older (seasoned) children will perform The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
The tuition price remains the same: $100.00 per child, or $150.00 for the discounted family rate. To reserve your spot, call Marge Austin at 608-774-4140.
Once again Space is limited! Please e-mail myself or contact Marge at 774-4140 to reserve your child A.S.A.P. Call soon!
The Fall 2009 session of Kids Fun and Drama is in full swing. The play has been announced, the parts have been cast, and the kids are working hard to get ready for the show.
Please join us November 20–22 for the kids’ musical version of The Emperor’s New Clothes! Performances will be at 7 PM on the 20th and 21st, and at 2 PM on the 22nd. We hope to see you there!
KFAD is gearing up again. Drama classes begin on Thursday, August 27, from 4 to 6 PM. They continue every Monday and Thursday from 4 to 6 PM, starting the following week.
Hand chimes class begins on September 1st from 4 to 5:30 PM.
The fees for both of these classes are $100.00 per child or a set family price of $150.00.
A lot of new children joined the summer program. Due to class size, we have placed a limit on the amount of children, we can accept. Please register as soon as possible to assure your child will have a spot. Call Marge Austin at 608-774-4140 to reserve your child’s placement.
Our summer session runs from August 3rd thru August 20th, and we meet Monday thru Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. Marge Austin will teach music reading, hand chimes, and vocal techniques, and will begin working with the kids on the fall show’s music.
The session fee is $50.00 per child. If money is an issue, please don’t let it keep your child away!
Please contact the studio at 368-1578 or contact Marge directly at 774-4140. Please make the call A.S.A.P., as Marge will be out of town on vacation on July 24th thru August 2nd and would like a head count before she leaves.

This spring, we’re reviving the popular KFAD raffle! Prizes include a year’s family membership to the Stateline YMCA, a weekend at the Lake Lawn Lodge, a signed football from the Green Bay Packers, and loads of games from Patch Products.

If you have prizes you would like to donate for the raffle, there’s still time for that too. Again, just give Marge a call at 368-1578.

Last weekend, our production of the musical version of A Christmas Carol went off wonderfully. The kids and the staff all did a fantastic job and entertained hundreds of theatergoers each day. Our fantastic and talented group of actors truly made us proud!
On a sad note, our musical advisor, Henry DeBruyne, fell on his way out of our final dress rehearsal and broke his hip. After surgery last Saturday, he seems to be doing well and is on his way to recovering soon. We scrambled to find a pianist to substitute for him at our performances and thankfully wound up with two wonderful gems.
Many thanks to those brave proxies for Henry, as well as to all of the friends and family who did so much to support us throughout the entire season. Look here in January for news about signing up for our spring production. We hope to see you back in 2009!
The Beloit Daily News ran an excellent article previewing the upcoming KFAD production of A Christmas Carol. Be sure to check it out for all the details and the wonderful pictures of our cast.
