How Did KFAD Get Its Name?
Before it was known as KFAD, this little drama group was just a bunch of kids who were eager to put on musicals in an old church sanctuary. The group needed a name, so a prize of a dinner at your choice of restaurant was offered to the kid who could come up with the best name for the group.
When the little girl who won the contest was asked, “How did you think of the name?” she replied, “It was easy. All I did was say what it was. It’s kids having fun and doing drama!”
What Does KFAD Do?
KFAD has come a long way since the days of performing musicals in that church sanctuary. It now has its own studio located near downtown Beloit and has been in production full tilt since 1998. Currently KFAD runs two main productions during the year—one in the spring and one in the fall—as well as a summer program.
